Highly-skilled workers are continuing to forgo Denmark when choosing a place to work, according to a new survey from the Boston Consulting Group.
The survey showed that Denmark was ranked the 27th most attractive destination to work, while neighbours Sweden and Germany are in the top ten. The US, the UK and Canada topped the list.
“We need to become better at understanding what attracts foreigners and how to market ourselves as a place to work,” Mai-Britt Poulsen, a partner at Boston Consulting Group in Denmark, told Berlingske newspaper.
“We should be concerned that countries like Sweden are so far up the list from us.”

Copenhagen follows suit
Poulsen went on to contend that the Danes should improve at selling what it can really offer, such as good infrastructure, good education and an open society.
The survey – which is based on answers from 200,000 people in 189 countries – revealed that Copenhagen also struggles when it comes to being viewed as an attractive city to work in.
While London, New York and Paris top the list, Copenhagen is ranked 28th, behind both Stockholm (19) and Oslo (22).
