The Tønder Redemption

One of two inmates who dug their way out of a south Jutland lockup is already back behind bars

One of two prisoners who dug their way out of a local jail in Tønder in southern Jutland has been rearrested. Authorities confirmed yesterday that the 18-year-old is on his way back to jail.

Three prisoners had tried to make it out of the hole they carved in the jailhouse wall, but guards managed to catch one before he could escape.

The prisoners had carefully planned their jail break, digging a hole behind a bed in a cell and having a getaway car ready outside.

The other prisoner remains at large.

No word if a poster of Raquel Welch was found covering the hole in the prison wall.
