On Saturday April 26, the lead guitarist from Guns N’ Roses, Ron Thal (aka ‘Bumblefoot’), will perform in Copenhagen at WAF JAM 2014.

Thal will take time out from an eagerly anticipated tour with Guns N’ Roses to headline a jam session that will feature well-known local bands and international stars performing on the same stage in support of a common vision: water and food for all.

For one night only, the GNR legend will front a supergroup made up of Copenhell favourites Marcus Jidell and vocalist Jennie-Ann Smith (Avatarium), guitar-master Matti Alfonzetti, drummer Felix Ewert and Dúné bassist Piotrek Wasilewski.

The festivities will kick-off with a performance by Mauro Patricelli and drummer Chano Olskær, who will present their critically acclaimed ‘Works for Drums and Piano’.

Next up will be home-grown favourites Nosy Parker and world-inspired funk band Scots on ICE. The Miriam Mandipira Band, a regular on the Copenhagen blues scene (expect to hear some Aretha Franklin), will take up the mantle after this and the night will culminate in a rock set by Thal’s supergroup that will cover everything from Led Zeppelin and the Beatles to the Small Faces, Cheryl Crow and Black Sabbath.

The WAF JAM 2014 promises to create a festival-like atmosphere for one very special night this spring – don’t miss out. (DS)

Take the most controversial play by Brazil’s most controversial writer, Nelson Rodrigues, and you get The Nausea (and no, that’s just the English translation of the play’s name).

A group of actors, under the direction of Marcello Bosschar, have worked their hardest on its realisation and invite you to their fundraising premiere.

All proceeds go towards financing their participation at the Odense Theatre Festival. Stick around after the show to enjoy complimentary Brazilian wine and share your feedback. (AS)

There’s more to MØ than an eccentric name. The Danish starlet has been trumped for the cover of Spice Girl’s  ‘Say You’ll Be There’ and consequently parallels between her music persona and that of her Brit predecessors have been drawn.

In truth, her music is deeper and far less inclined towards the pop spectrum and it’s little wonder that she’s steadily growing in popularity both locally and abroad. To underline this, Vega have billed her twice for their April schedule, following a sold-out show on Friday the 11th. (AM)
