‘Hus Forbi Fordi’ celebrates 20-year anniversary of support newspaper

In honour of the 20th birthday of Hus Forbi newspaper – which supports and is sold by the homeless across Denmark – the homeless have made an exhibition portraying their lives in Denmark.

‘Hus Forbi Fordi’ (Hus Forbi because) opened yesterday at Arbejdermuseet (Workers’ Museum) in Copenhagen and features items and personal recollections accumulated by Hus Forbi sellers through the years.

“Hus Forbi has written itself into history,” Hus Forbi wrote on Facebook. “It was a fantastic afternoon with 180 friends and supporters present.”

“Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, who was the prime minister when Hus Forbi was first published in August 1996, gave the opening speech – an outstanding day.”

To Aarhus and Svenborg
The exhibition will stay at Arbejdermuseet until July 31 when it relocates to DOKK 1 in Aarhus from August 3 to September 30.

From October 4 onwards, it will be shown at Danmarks Forsorgsmuseum in Svenborg, Funen.
