Paramedic charged with rape in ambulance

A paramedic has been charged with rape after having sex with an intoxicated girl, 17, in the back of an ambulance on the way to the emergency room.

The paramedic, who has now left his job with the privately owned firm Falck, denied the charges. He had only been on the job for a month at the time and admitted to admitted having consensual sex in the ambulance with the girl, who had been picked up from a party in the town of Slagelse for being too drunk.

Neither her friend who accompanied her and sat in the front seat, nor the driver, saw what took place behind them as the divider between the two sections of the ambulance was closed.

Sedated and raped
The investigation was started after the girl told staff at the hospital that she felt she had been sedated.

The man has been interviewed several times by South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police.

Louis Honoré, a spokesperson for Falck, told Ekstra Bladet that he was shocked by the allegations, and that such actions went against Falck’s regulations forbidding any sort of sexual relationship between staff and patients.

He added that he had been in touch with the girl and her family and offered them help and support.
