Tivoli’s 170th Birthday 

Celebrate the 170th birthday of the Tivoli Gardens with the Tivoli Symphonic Orchestra, pantomime theatre performances and fireworks to cap the day off. You can meet Rasmus Klump, take tours around the theatre and, of course, enjoy the rides and attractions that have made Tivoli famous. As always, the day will be kid-friendly, and if the warm weather holds, the party should be something thoroughly enjoyable and liked by all.

Danish on a Sunday

Every fortnight on a Sunday, Cinemateket, the home of the Danish Film Institute, shows a popular Danish film with English subtitles. And don’t forget that you can get a Danish pastry and coffee for just 40kr from the cinema’s restaurant. This week’s film is Kapringen (A Hijacking).

Zulu Summer Cinema

Over the past few years, the Zulu Summer Cinema has travelled far and wide across the country to bring the good people of Denmark some of the best movies of the past year. And finally it is Copenhagen’s turn. Up first is Wes Anderson’s comedy Moonrise Kingdom on Sunday, followed by Skyfall, the most popular James Bond film ever, on Tuesday. Quentin Tarantino’s spaghetti western Django Unchained will be drawing them in on Thursday, and the final performance is a surprise choice.

Børnefilmfestivalen 

The Children’s Film Festival, albeit entirely in Danish, is coming to Copenhagen this Saturday. Enjoy three children’s classic films (Hjælp! Jeg er en fisk, Frode – og alle de andre rødder, and Olsen-Banden på de bonede gulve), which are suitable for 2 to 6-year-olds, 5 to 9-year-olds and 8 to 13-year-olds respesctively.  Admission is free and food and drinks, like bubble tea, burgers and hot dogs are available to purchase.

Songs and Sonnets at the Slotspavillion

Spend a few hours at Aldershvile Slotspark listening to words and music from Shakespeare, Tennyson, Wordsworth, John Dowland and many more. Afterwards, enjoy an afternoon tea or coffee and cake at the pavillion and a stroll around the park grounds.
