Man still in critical condition after being shot in the head

The police suspect that the shooting of a young man in Nørrebro yesterday is gang related

A 19-year-old man was shot yesterday evening at Lundtoftegade in Nørrebro in the latest incident in a string of gang-related violence. Ten to 12 bullets were fired at the man and one of them hit him in the head. He is currently in a very critical condition at Rigshospitalet.

The victim has been identified and police suspect a connection to the ongoing gang conflict, although they could not yet confirm it.

“As far as we're concerned, he is not a gang member, but he is associated with the group called MOB Lunden,” the chief of Copenhagen Police's gang investigation force, Lau Thygesen, told TV2 News.

After the incident, a car was found burning in Gladsaxe. The car, according to the police, was reported stolen and is believed to be the getaway vehicle used after the shooting.

The shooting took place shortly before 9pm yesterday, as TV2 was hosting a live TV debate on the ‘gang war’.
