The boutique specialises in unique trim, ribbons and embellishments. They even stock the under-wiring required to make your own lingerie. All the shoulder pads, diamante embellishments and lace immediately brings the Madonna Like a Virgin years to mind, but the shop has plenty of contemporary products too. Should you ever lose a button, this shop will no doubt be able to replace it, so vast is its collection.

Læder & Skindhuset
Focusing on fur and leather pelts, this shop also has beautiful hardware for bag design and leatherwork. Down to the small details such as the clasp or the colour of the chain handle, you can buy everything you need to make a one-off bag that is completely individual. Not a shop for those who only wear faux fur, they stock an extensive array of real animal furs, from rabbit skins to the eye-wateringly expensive polar bear.

Skipper Stoffer
One of Copenhagen’s oldest fabric stores, they stock an eclectic range of textiles, including Liberty. The timeless British patterns are just crying out to be made into beautiful summer dresses. Come winter, the high quality Skipper knitted wool available in Smooth, Ottoman, Jacquard and Heavy Rib would make a jumper that The Killing’s Sarah Lund would be proud to wear.

For those who need a little guidance, this shop stocks patterns for everything from fedoras to children’s clothes, and even patterns to make your own ‘onsie’. Stocking neon ribbon, sequined fabric and tweed, this shop certainly has a different fabric for every customer. Located in Brønshøj, the printed silk scarves and unique bleached denim make it worth leaving the city for.
