Drunk forces down plane in Jutland

The plane was forced to land at Aarhus Airport when a passenger had a few too many

A Ryanair flight from Riga to Dublin was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Aarhus Airport on Tuesday night after a passenger became too drunk to fly.

"A plane was diverted because of a drunk person, so we had to arrest him. He was uneasy on board the aircraft, and the staff could not handle him,"  Peter Hallstrøm from East Jutland Police told Jyllands-Posten.

"He was outspoken and provocative on the plane, but did not exercise violence against anyone."

Not yet questioned
The man did not resist arrest and has spent the night in custody, but hasn't yet been questioned by police.

Hallstrøm indicated that the man would be questioned when he had sobered up, but could not give any more details.

It is unclear whether Ryanair will be seeking compensation for the incident.
