Rapist scared off by herpes

An Amager woman may have stopped her attacker by telling him she had a sexually transmitted disease

Copenhagen Police have arrested a 30-year-old man who is suspected of breaking into a 20-year-old woman’s apartment early Sunday morning, pointing a gun at her and threatening her with rape.

The woman told police that she awoke to find the man in her bedroom. He pointed a revolver at her and told her to do as he said. The gunman then undressed and got in bed with the woman and began to molest her.

When the clever victim claimed to her attacker that she had herpes, the would-be rapist had second thoughts, jumped from the bed, dressed and fled.

The woman was able to give an accurate description of her assailant which led to his arrest, according to police.

The man, who is from Amager, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing today.
