Police hunt for suspected child abductor in Randers

The police are looking for any witnesses or people who saw a red station wagon

The police are looking for a man in a red station wagon who has tried to lure a number of children in Randers into his car.

The latest episode took place yesterday afternoon on Rismøllegade at 13:20, where the man offered a boy money to get into his car. The police are looking for any witnesses or people who saw a red station wagon.

“A woman saw the boy speak with the man and walked over to see what was going on,” Bo Christensen, the head of the east Jutland police, said according to Politiken newspaper. As the woman approached, the man drove off.

The woman spoke with the boy and found out what had transpired before calling the police. But the boy then disappeared before the police arrived.

It is the fifth such episode to occur recently in Randers, and the police believe that it is the same man because of matching descriptions of the man and his car. He is about 40 years old and drives an old, faded red station wagon.

“We really want to hear from people who know a car like that, or others who may have noticed something,” Christensen said.

"We also want to speak to the boy who was approached on Rismøllegade."
