Dane to be the new head of Adidas

Kasper Rørsted will replace the current CEO of the sportswear company in October

Kasper Rørsted has been appointed the new managing director of the Adidas Group, reports TV2.

In October 2016, the 53-year-old Dane will replace Herbert Hainer, who has been the CEO of the German sportswear company since 2001.

Rørsted is currently working as the CEO of another German company, Henkel, which produces homecare and beauty care products.

Best executive of 2014
After the announcement of his departure, Henkel’s stock fell by 5 percent, while Adidas’s stock increased by 4 percent.

In 2014, Rørsted was named the best executive in Germany based on performance.

Adidas is the second largest sportswear retailer in the world and has 54,000 employees. The headquarters are located in the German town of Herzogenaurach in Bavaria.
