Four arrested in Østerbro death

One man and three women have been arrested in a case where a man turned up dead in Jyllinge two weeks after being assaulted in eastern Copenhagen

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the death of a 52-year-old man who was found dead earlier this week at a summerhouse in Jyllinge.

 

A 41-year-old man made a preliminary appearance in court today on charges that he was the main culprit behind the deadly attack. Three women, aged 34, 36 and 69, were jailed on Wednesday for aiding and abetting the crime. 

 

Police say that the attack occurred in the eastern Copenhagen district of Østerbro on July 9, but the victim's body was first found on July 22 at a summerhouse in the mid-Zealand town of Jyllinge. 

 

A police spokesperson told Ritzau that they believe the 41-year-old man was the one behind the attack and that police did not anticipate making any additional arrests in the case. 

 

Police don't currently have a motive in the case but said that the crime took place in an environment of heavy drinking.
