  • Former minister charged with possessing child abuse material

    A sensational and spectacular case hit Danish politics on Friday.

    A former minister has been charged with possessing extensive child abuse material and a child sex doll, Berlingske reports.

    Berlingske and Ritzau are aware of the man’s identity but are not mentioning the man by name. He has requested a name-for-hire ban on the case.

    According to Berlingske, the man denies the charges.

    The charge concerns possession of sexual material such as photographs, films or the like with children under the age of 18.

    According to Berlingske, the man is said to have purchased access to the material online.

    According to Berlingske, the material is very extensive and of a particularly gross nature.

    In addition, the former minister is charged with possessing child sex dolls, which has been banned since 2022.

    Possession of child abuse material and a child sex doll is punishable by a fine or up to one year in prison.

    Neither the prosecution nor the police district that investigated the case against the former minister will comment on the case to Berlingske.
